Wisconsin Badgers Football 2023 Predictions: Statistical Leaders

Where Wisconsin football finds its pass rush in 2023 is the biggest unanswered question this offseason. Outside linebacker Nick Herbig and defensive lineman Keeanu Benton were both drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Herbig recorded an incredible 11 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss last season. Frankly, it is difficult to see anyone on the Badgers replacing that level of production.

OLBs Darryl Peterson and CJ Goetz spent 2022 rotating opposite Herbig. While both have a case to be the projected leader in sacks for 2023, Peterson has the slight edge. The former 247 Sports Composite four-star prospect has a higher upside with his athletic profile. Goetz is a reliable tackler, showcased by his 62 tackles in 2022, but does not possess the same natural pass-rushing ability.
