Wisconsin Football Expected to Land a Pair of 2025 In-State Recruits

Wisconsin football needs to repair its in-state recruiting image in 2025, and recent futurecast predictions suggest the Badgers will be fine.

The Wisconsin football program has most of its 2024 recruiting class spots spoken for. This means the Badgers coaching staff can get a jump start on pursuing some of their top options in the 2025 cycle, where they already have a verbal commitment from unranked quarterback Landyn Locke

UW’s staff already has established some strong connections with some high-upside recruits in the 2025 cycle, but some of the best players they’re after are in their own backyard — an area Luke Fickell and company intend to make a priority moving forward

The first step in rectifying that will be adding one in-state recruit to the 2025 class and creating a domino effect. Could the wheels already be in motion?

Wisconsin Football Is Trending for a Pair of In-State Recruits

Just days before four-star offensive tackle Michael Roeske and three-star linebacker Cooper Catalano visit the Wisconsin football program, Badgers recruiting insider Jon McNamara placed futurecast predictions for both in-state products to wind up at UW.

Roeske, a 6-foot-7, 260-pound tackle from Wautoma, holds early offers from Minnesota, Notre Dame, Indiana, and Syracuse. He’s considered the No. 21 OT in the country and the No. 3 player in Wisconsin.

Catalano is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound tackling machine at inside linebacker with scholarships from Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, and Minnesota. He’s rated as the No. 42 LB in the country and the No. 6 player in Wisconsin.

It’s incredibly early in the recruiting process, but Wisconsin football seems well-positioned to secure verbal commitments from two of the state’s top talents in an extremely deep talent pool. These could be building blocks to start the domino effect that takes the Badgers to the next level.
