Scouting Report: Wisconsin Football Commit Michael Roeske
Here’s a look at the newest Wisconsin football commit Michael Roeske’s recruitment and his tape.
The Wisconsin football program picked up a massive win on the recruiting trail as in-state offensive lineman Michael Roeske announced he would be staying home and playing college ball with the Badgers.
The three-star prospect out of Wautoma took to social media to announce his commitment.

Here’s a look at the newest addition to the 2025 recruiting class and what stands out.
Wisconsin Football Commit Michael Roeske: On the Recruiting Trail
According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Roeske the No. 397 player in the nation, the No. 33 offensive tackle, and the No. 4 player in Wisconsin.
The Wautoma High School standout earned an offer from Wisconsin back in April. The Badgers were the third program to extend a scholarship offer, with Indiana and Minnesota throwing their hats in the ring first. Five other schools made a pitch for Roeske’s services, including Michigan, Notre Dame, Kansas, Syracuse, and Illinois.
Roeske made a stop at Wisconsin during the primetime clash against Ohio State. He also made other unofficial visits to Illinois and Michigan.
Luke Fickell and company should emphasize offensive line recruiting in this cycle, and bringing in a player of Roeske’s caliber is a big win. He’s now the third commit in the 2025 cycle for UW, joining Remington Moss and Landyn Locke.
Badgers Commit Michael Roeske: Scouting Report
Roeske is a prototypical Wisconsin football offensive lineman. At 6 feet 7 inches and 290 pounds, he already has the size and will benefit heavily from a college strength and conditioning program. With his frame, Roeske should comfortably carry over 325 pounds.
The newest Badger has solid balance when working against contact. Due to his strong legs and ability to overpower defenders with his upper body strength, you don’t see Roeske get knocked around too much. His frame obviously works in his favor, but what he’s able to do at his stature is something you don’t see every day.
Roeske isn’t one of the fastest offensive linemen out there, but he, moves in space well. He has a real twitchiness about him with how quickly he can get out of his stance and his quick reaction time in the open field.
Roeske has nice flexibility for his size. Standing at 6-foot-7, he’s had to go up against defensive linemen much smaller than him. While that can be difficult to manage, Roeske knows how to use and unlock his hips to bend and drive into opposing players. With how he’s had to approach the game at his size, the Wautoma native is a small step ahead in his flexibility.
Roeske is a step ahead of other offensive linemen his age in some areas, but he’ll need to be more polished and consistent in his senior year. His 2023-24 tape was a huge step up from his sophomore campaign, and I think there’s loads of upside here. Getting a kid like Roeske early is huge for UW because he will only get better as he refines his game even more. If he can reach his ceiling, this could be one of those recruiting wins you look back on.
With Roeske’s commitment, the Wisconsin football program now has the nation’s No. 16 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, per 247Sports.
