On National Signing Day, a former 2024 Wisconsin football commit, with whom the Badgers parted ways, chose to sign with another Big Ten team.

Three-star safety Kahmir Prescott from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, announced he would sign with the Nebraska Cornhuskers over reported scholarship offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Boston College, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Colorado, and others.

According to the composite rankings, Prescott, a 6-foot-1, 190-pounder, is the No. 726 player in the 2024 cycle, the No. 73 safety in the country, and the No. 19 player in Pennsylvania.

Former Wisconsin Football Commit Kahmir Prescott Stays in Big Ten

The separation between Kahmir Prescott and the Wisconsin football team back in December was a “mutual parting,” where the Badgers coaching staff opted to go a different direction with the three-star recruit.

As a junior at Neumann Goretti High School, Prescott registered 35 tackles, six pass deflections, four interceptions, 3.0 TFLs, and a sack.

Their decision to cut Prescott loose empowered him to explore the best potential landing spot for his future before National Signing Day in February, and now he’s found that spot. Unfortunately, the versatile safety decided on a Big Ten program.

Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football coaches did just fine on their end, assembling a historic 2024 recruiting class, where the Badgers achieved the coveted 50% blue-chip ratio for the first time in program history.

Hopefully, things work out well for both sides, except when the Cornhuskers are playing the Wisconsin Badgers.
