Madison, Wis. – On Thursday, the Wisconsin Badgers picked up their eighth commitment in the 2024 cycle. Three-star safety Kahmir Prescott took to Twitter to announce his commitment.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Prescott is the No. 630 player in the nation, the No. 60 safety in the 2024 class, and the No. 19 player in Pennsylvania.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native is a big pickup for several reasons. Prescott is as versatile as they come, playing at safety, on the outside, and in the slot in coverage. He has also played a fair share of snaps on the offensive side of the ball at running back and wide receiver.

Prescott is an exciting athlete with the tools to seriously contribute to the Badgers. Here’s a look at his tape and what he brings to the program.

A look at new Wisconsin Badgers commit Kahmir Prescott’s film.

One of the things that jumped out immediately when watching Prescott’s tape was his speed. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety can effortlessly hit the second gear, leaving players in the dust.

Here, Prescott secures an interception on an errant throw behind the receiver and turns on the afterburners for a touchdown.

Multiple of Prescott’s interception highlights show him taking it back for six or gaining some extra yardage. His quick burst and ability to reach another gear make him a threat in the secondary.

Prescott is more than just speedy; he can get up with ease. Here, he sticks to his receiver and gets up to swat away a pass.

Although Prescott’s frame is a bit on the lanky side, he’s a very physical player. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety shows off his closing speed and hard-hitting ability on these reps.

His catch radius and ball-hawk ability make him an intriguing addition to the secondary. Combine that with his quick burst, and Wisconsin may have found a dangerous safety.

Although Prescott is a safety, the newest addition to the Wisconsin Badgers has shown promise on the offensive side. Combining his speed with his physicality, Prescott is a threat to break out for big chunks of yardage at multiple positions.

This play out of the wildcat is one of the highlights of his junior season. Prescott shows off his physicality here as he somehow squeezes out of trouble for a touchdown.

His contributions aren’t just from the backfield, as he’s shown promise as a deep threat. On this rep, Prescott burns his defender for an easy touchdown.

Lastly, Prescott could be a great option on special teams. He’s handled kickoff return duties, and with his speed, he’s a dangerous return man.

Final thoughts

There is so much to like about this pickup. With Prescott’s speed, versatility, and physicality, he could be a difference-maker for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Prescott is the eighth commitment in the 2024 cycle. He joins Mabrey Mettauer, Grant Stec, Rob Booker, Derek Jensen, Thomas Heiberger, Landon Gauthier, and Kyan Berry-Johnson as future Badgers.
