Former Wisconsin football running back Braelon Allen made a heartwarming gesture shortly after being drafted by the New York Jets.

The Badgers’ fourth-round pick wasted no time in using his newly signed NFL contract to gift his mother a brand-new car.

In a touching Instagram story, Allen shared the heartfelt moment, expressing, “Had to get mama right,” accompanied by a heart emoji. This act of generosity highlights Allen’s gratitude and his commitment to his mother, who has supported him along his journey.

According to Spotrac, the former Wisconsin football all-conference running back’s contract is $4.673 million over four years, and the deal includes a $653,544 signing bonus.

Beyond his off-field gestures, Allen is poised to make an impact on the field as well. Despite being the youngest player in the 2024 NFL Draft, Allen is known for his ability to create yards after contact and keep the chains moving. Paired with Breece Hall, Allen forms a formidable duo in the Jets’ backfield, capable of attacking defenses on the ground.

In 2023, Allen carried the ball 181 times, accumulating 984 yards and 12 touchdowns while maintaining an impressive 5.4 yards per carry average. Despite having 49 fewer carries than in 2022, he managed to sustain his per-carry average and even achieved a career-high 12 touchdowns.

Throughout his Wisconsin football college career, Allen amassed 597 carries, gaining 3,494 yards and scoring 35 touchdowns, with an average of 5.9 yards per carry. That placed him at No. 9 on the program’s all-time rushing yardage list.

Moreover, Allen’s character off the field reflects positively on the Jets organization. Even before taking a snap, Allen’s actions show that he embodies the values of hard work and generosity that have long defined the Wisconsin football team’s culture, which should pair nicely with New York.
