Top EDGE Target Trending to Wisconsin Football Sets Decision Date

The Wisconsin football program has been after 2024 four-star EDGE rusher Anelu Lafaele on the recruiting trail for years, dating back to Paul Chryst’s time as head coach. 

UW outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell has been after Lafaele hard since his official visit on June 2 because the Badgers see him as the ideal pass-rusher to pair next to Thomas Heiberger in the 2024 class.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound pass rusher out of St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, recently cut down his list of schools to Washington, Hawaii, Arizona State, and Wisconsin. It’s also worth noting that all those schools mentioned got official visits except Washington. 

Lafaele took to Twitter to announce that he’ll be committing live on Youtube July 8.

Wisconsin Football Recruiting Target Anelu Lafaele Announces Commitment Details

According to 247Sports recruiting rankings, Anelu Lafaele is the No. 21 EDGE rusher in the country and the No. 2 player in Hawaii.

It’s also worth noting that Lafaele picked up a crystal ball prediction from Wisconsin football insider Evan Flood with a confidence of “6.” He also got a future cast prediction from Jon McNamara of Rivals, further driving home the point that all signs are pointing toward Madison.

Lafaele’s twitchiness, athleticism, bend, and strength bull-rushing on tape make him an incredibly high-upside recruit that makes a ton of sense for this coaching staff to develop. Given some time, I think there’s an impact pass-rusher here that other high majors will wish they took a chance on.
