According to the composite rankings, Tounkara is the No. 630 player in the country, the No. 102 WR, and the No. 110 player in Texas.
Tounkara’s recruitment has picked up some serious steam as of late. The Texas native is now up to 26 offers, and he’s picked up scholarships from Utah, Arkansas, Cal, Louisiana-Lafayette, Hawaii, Kansas, Arizona, and Wisconsin, all in May.
Wisconsin will be first in line on Tounkara’s official visit schedule, with trips planned to Colorado State, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas in the weeks following.
In his junior season at Clear Springs High School, Tounkara played at wide receiver and defensive back while serving as a returner on special teams. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete recorded 34 receptions for 311 yards and a touchdown as a receiver while posting 13 tackles at cornerback, according to MaxPreps. Tounkara also added 125 kick return yards and 61 punt return yards.
Wisconsin picked up its first wide receiver commitment in the 2025 recruiting cycle last week in Cameron Miller, who is expected to play slot receiver. UW could use extra help on the boundary, and Tounkara fits that mold.
With Kenny Guiton acting as the lead wide receiver recruiter, Wisconsin is also pursuing other targets including Vernon Allen, Davion Chandler, and Kamren Flowers.
The Wisconsin football program currently holds 11 commitments in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
