Wisconsin football has its sights on securing one of the top talents at running back in the 2025 recruiting class. The Badgers made significant headway in that pursuit earlier this week by making the cut for four-star tailback Byron Louis.

Louis has included the Wisconsin Badgers among his top 10 schools, alongside Miami, Penn State, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, USC, Florida State, and Oklahoma.

Standing at 6-foot and weighing 205 pounds, Louis is a consensus top 200 player in the 2025 class. He is also rated as the No. 16 running back and the No. 26 player in Florida.

Hailing from Fort Lauderdale’s American Catholic High School, the same school that produced current Wisconsin football commit and three-star defensive back signee Xavier Lucas, Bryon Louis boasts an impressive recruiting profile with 24 offers already on the table.

Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers have shown a preference for one-cut running backs who are also capable pass-catchers, and Louis fits that mold. He’s incredibly dynamic and has home-run-hitting speed.

Notably, Wisconsin football has landed a player from Florida in three of the last four recruiting classes. The Badgers offered Louis back in April and will now work on getting him on campus for an official visit.

Wisconsin brought three running backs into the program during the 2024 recruiting cycle: Dilin Jones, Darrion Dupree, and Gideon Ituka. The Badgers are expected to take just one back in the 2025 class.
