The latest scholarship offer from Wisconsin football for its 2024 recruiting class is to one of the hottest wide receiver prospects nationwide. NiTareon Tuggle, who goes by Nitro or “Showtime,” announced his scholarship offer from the Badgers via Twitter. Tuggle wrote that he feels “blessed and grateful to receive an offer from University [sic] of Wisconsin.”
Wisconsin football recruiting’s competition
The six-foot-three-inch, 190-pound wideout has been the focus of numerous programs this offseason. Tuggle announced his first Power Five offer from Vanderbilt on January 13th and has since added P5 offers from Penn State, Illinois, Purdue, Michigan State, Indiana, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Virginia, Auburn, Georgia, Colorado, and Wisconsin. The Indiana native visited Notre Dame twice last season but has not received a scholarship offer from the Fighting Irish.
Nitro Tuggle highlights showcase elusiveness
Tuggle had an impressive junior season racking up 38 receptions for 821 yards and 22 touchdowns. His highlight tape shows a remarkable ability to make defenders miss in space. Without a doubt, the Badgers see a prospect who can fit Wisconsin offensive coordinator Phil Longo’s mantra to “find a way to get [players] the ball, so we can watch athletes go be athletes,”
Tuggle currently rates as a high three-star to four-star prospect. 247Sports ranks Tuggle as the eighth-best player from Indiana and the 70th-best wide receiver in his class. Rivals, however, rates Tuggle slightly higher as the fourth-best 2024 prospect from Indiana and the 59th-best wide receiver.
Wisconsin football’s 2024 recruiting class currently has three commitments. Quarterback Mabrey Mettauer headlines the class, followed by Grant Stec (the highest-rated tight-end recruit in program history), and fellow tight-end Rob Booker. UW’s class currently ranks fifth in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports.
