Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football staff has started to recruit beyond 2024 earlier, and thus far it has paid off.

2027 recruit and quarterback phenomenon Trent Seaborn has taken over the recruiting world as of late. Seaborn, who has yet to play football in high school, has already spent significant time on campus with multiple schools. The talented quarterback was recently spotted with a Wisconsin receiver, which could be an indication of a future move.

Phil Longo Still Eyeing Handful Of Quarterback Recruits

If anyone on the Wisconsin football staff is going to dig to find a recruit, it is certainly offensive coordinator Phil Longo. Longo has already impressed by landing multiple quarterbacks in both the transfer and recruiting classes. Now, the offensive coordinator who has been dubbed a “quarterback guru” is on the search for another disciple.

Quarterback Trent Seaborn emerged on the collegiate radar last month when the Wisconsin football staff offered Seaborn a scholarship. Not only was it his first scholarship, but it also marked the first offer in the 2027 class for the Badgers. Since being offered by Wisconsin, Seaborn has been busily making his rounds and getting quality practice in.

As an eighth-grader this past season, Seaborn took over as the starter for Thompson High School during the 7A Playoffs. The rising ninth-grader already has some game experience under his belt during the biggest games his school played in. Whether Seaborn is ready to play or not is not the question looming over him. Rather, every program is wondering what their offers will turn into in the future.

Seaborn is a smooth operator in the pocket and already shows incredible poise at such a young age. The quarterback has excellent pocket presence and understands where and when he needs to get rid of the ball. This past season, Seaborn put his abilities on display as he earned the starting role during pivotal games. Clearly, the coach and team felt confident enough in the quarterback to lead them without an incredible amount of experience.

Will Wisconsin Football, Phil Longo Get Their Hands on Trent Seaborn in the Future?

Seaborn is currently regarded as the top quarterback recruit in the 2027 class. Seaborn currently has 14 scholarship offers and continues to gain more each day. Offensive coordinator Phil Longo saw the potential in Seaborn early on and made sure Wisconsin football was one of the first programs the recruit spoke with.

Most top-ranked quarterbacks are glitz and glamour, and want to show coaches their flashy play. However, Seaborn has shown his maturity and football IQ instead in a short amount of time. Recently, Seaborn was spotted with Wisconsin football receiver CJ Williams among other players. It is still incredibly early for the young quarterback to be making collegiate decisions, but Wisconsin and Phil Longo are properly positioning themselves.
