Madison, Wis. – When Luke Fickell took over the Wisconsin football program, he made it a point of emphasis to recruit within a 350-mile radius. The Badgers head coach has done so successfully early on, securing multiple recruits in the Chicagoland area and some intriguing in-state talent.

The Wisconsin staff has now ventured into Ohio and offered one of the state’s top players. Four-star edge rusher Brian Robinson took to Twitter to announce UW offered him.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Robinson is the No. 125 player in the class, the No. 11 EDGE, and the No. 4 player in Ohio.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound EDGE currently holds a whopping 40 offers. Wisconsin joins Michigan, Penn State, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Rutgers as Big Ten schools to check in with the standout from Ohio. Other notable schools to submit offers include Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado, USC, Texas A&M, and many more.

Where Wisconsin Football Stands with the Talented EDGE Rusher

Although Wisconsin is in a logjam of offers, one of the draws is the family ties to the area. According to Allen Trieu of 247Sports, Robinson visited family on campus in February and checked out Camp Randall Stadium. The four-star prospect will be heading back to Madison soon.

“I am definitely visiting for an unofficial soon because we are going to be in Madison for my cousin’s graduation from high school mid-week,” Robinson told Trieu.

Although UW was late in offering Robinson, there is a chance they could be in the running due to his family ties. There is currently one Crystal Ball prediction for Michigan to land Robinson. Hopefully, during his next visit, Wisconsin can work some magic.

The Wisconsin football program currently holds eight commitments in the 2024 class.
