Florida State football and coaches players arrive for the 10th FSU spring football practice of the 2023 season on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

The Wisconsin football program desperately needs help at defensive line, and so far, the Badgers have been aggressive in dishing out offers to linemen in the portal.

UW has extended six known offers to defensive linemen at the time of this writing, and there should be more to come.

One of the most recent portal offers was extended to former Florida State DL Ayobami Tifase, who announced the offer on social media.

Tifase entered the transfer portal on December 5th, the day after the portal opened. Since deciding to move on from Florida State, the redshirt freshman has picked up offers from Virginia Tech, Charlotte, and Coastal Carolina.

Tifase redshirted in 2022 during his freshman year. During his 2023 campaign, the Maryland native appeared in three games and recorded his sole tackle of the season against Syracuse.

Coming out of high school, Tifase was the No. 677 player in the nation and the No. 95 DL, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Wisconsin isn’t returning much production at defensive line in 2024. UW has four players who recorded stats in 2023 set to return: Ben Barten, Cade McDonald, Darian Varner, and James Thompson Jr. With limited returning production and unproven depth, adding multiple bodies at defensive line should be the highest priority for Luke Fickell and company.

Tifase has been confirmed to BadgerNotes.com that he is actively on campus for an official visit.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds transfer commitments from QB Tyler Van Dyke, TE Jackson McGohan, OLB John Pius, LB Leon Lowery Jr, and LS Cayson Pfeiffer. Those five commitments are good for the No. 10 recruiting class in the nation, per the 247Sports rankings.
