It’s been a busy couple of days for the Wisconsin football program, ladies and gents, but fear not because BadgerNotes can help get you back up to speed with a roundup of some important news you may have missed.

Wisconsin Badgers Land 2024 4-Star OT

On Sunday, the most electric thing on Wisconsin Badgers Twitter made a triumphant return—the Luke Fickell jump-around video

After taking another visit to Madison this past weekend (his third), UW received a verbal commitment from four-star offensive tackle Derek Jensen out of Hartland, Wisconsin.

According to the Rivals recruiting database, he’s the No. 240 player in the 2024 recruiting class, the No. 19 OT in the country, and the No. 4 player in Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound OT chose the Badgers over offers from Central Michigan, Duke, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, Syracuse, and Virginia.

Jensen becomes the fourth commit for Wisconsin football in the 2024 recruiting class, joining Mabrey Mettauer, Grant Stec, and fellow in-state prospect Robert Booker.

Wisconsin Football Gets Two High-Profile In-State Prospects Back on Campus

Wisconsin football has several high-priority targets in the 2025 recruiting class in their backyard, perhaps none more significant than Cooper Catalano and James Flaigan, both of which hold early offers from the Badgers.

This past weekend, UW hosted both players on unofficial visits.

Catalano, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker currently holding offers from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Kansas, registered 147 tackles, 19 TFLs, three forced fumbles, two sacks, and an interception as a sophomore, according to WisSports.net.

Wisconsin is in great shape at tight end in 2024 because they already hold commitments from Grant Stec and Robert Booker, so the Badgers coaching staff has turned the page to 2025, where Flanigan is sitting at or near the top of their board.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Green Bay native recorded 22 receptions for 520 yards and nine touchdowns last fall for Notre Dame Academy and currently holds offers from Missouri, Penn State, and UW.

Wisocnsin’s in-state crop in 2025 has a chance to be a special group, much like the 2024 class, so here’s to hoping the new coaching staff can keep the fence up and keep the homegrown talent where they belong.

Other Wisconsin Football News

After an unofficial visit to Madison this past weekend, three-star safety Cam Richardson out of Irvington, New Jersey, wasted no time setting up an official visit on June 9-11.

As a junior, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety, who holds offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Virginia, Duke, and several others, registered 50 solo tackles and an interception.

Richardson is someone I would put on commit watch during his official visit because coach Hitschler is making him feel like a top defensive priority for the Wisconsin football program.
