The Wisconsin Badgers football program got off to a strong start in the 2025 recruiting cycle, earning seven early commitments.

Things have started to slow down a bit on the recruiting trail, but several 2025 prospects have begun to trim their lists, and the Badgers have made the cut for a handful of those targets.

With some help from recent junior day visits and some 2024 signees doing some campaigning, UW is well-positioned to make a push for some priority prospects.

Wisconsin Football Named Finalist For a Handful of 2025 Prospects

Cameron Miller

Four-star athlete Cameron Miller cut down his list at the beginning of February after fielding 22 scholarship offers. Wisconsin made the cut alongside Michigan, Rutgers, Kentucky, and Syracuse.

According to the composite rankings, Miller is the No. 287 player in the nation, the No. 30 CB, and the No. 8 player in New Jersey.

Miller plays both wide receiver and cornerback at Winslow Township High School, but Wisconsin has been recruiting him as a receiver. Wisconsin plans to host Miller on a visit sometime in the spring, giving new WR coach Kenny Guiton a chance to forge a relationship and show what UW has to offer.

Anthony Sacca

Blue-chip linebacker Anthony Sacca is a highly sought-after prospect in the 2025 class. The St. Joseph’s Prep School standout has tallied 25 total offers, but his revised list will include Wisconsin, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Duke. Sacca had also fielded interest from big-time programs like Georgia, Florida State, Oregon, Texas A&M, and USC.

The four-star linebacker is ranked as the No. 173 player in the country, the No. 21 linebacker, and the No. 4 player in Pennsylvania.

Sacca has a connection to Wisconsin, as he is a former teammate of 2024 Badgers signee Omillio Agard at St. Joseph’s Prep. Agard mentioned on a podcast appearance that he has been doing some campaigning to bring some of his former teammates to UW, and Sacca was among those mentioned.

Wisconsin’s linebacker spots are filling up quickly, but this recruitment will be worth monitoring.

Maxwell Roy

Maxwell Roy, who also played with Agard and Sacca at St. Joseph’s Prep, listed Wisconsin among his top choices alongside Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, Oregon, and Duke.

According to the composite rankings, Roy is the No. 146 player in the nation, the No. 17 DL, and the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania.

Before the two assistants left the program, Roy was initially recruited by safeties coach Colin Hitschler, with some help from defensive line coach Greg Scruggs. Despite the departures, UW is still well-positioned for the blue-chip prospect.

Defensive line recruiting has been a bit touch and go for Wisconsin thus far, so nailing the next defensive line coach and making a push for Roy’s commitment will be paramount.

Jack Lange

Four-star offensive lineman Jack Lange listed Wisconsin in his top six with Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Missouri, and Ole Miss last week.

UW will again be locked in a recruiting battle with Notre Dame to reel in an offensive line target. Wisconsin lost out on in-state standout Owen Strebig to the Fighting Irish, who are also currently trending to land Lange and another one of the Badgers OL targets. That said, Notre Dame’s offensive line spots are filling up quickly in the 2025 class, so there is an opportunity for Wisconsin to make a late push.

It’s worth noting that new Badgers OL coach AJ Blazek extended the offer to Lange after his arrival in Madison, and the two have built a relationship dating back to Blazek’s time at Vanderbilt.

According to the composite rankings, the Eureka High School standout is the No. 154 player in the nation, the No. 14 OT, and the No. 2 player in Missouri.

Matty Augustine

Matty Augustine named Wisconsin as a finalist along with Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Notre Dame last Thursday after tallying nearly 30 scholarship offers.

The three-star prospect is rated as the No. 393 player in the nation, the No. 32 OT, and the No. 4 player in Connecticut.

Augustine was an attendee at Wisconsin’s latest round of junior day visits, but former Badgers OL coach Joe Rudolph and Notre Dame are heavily favored to land the Brunswick High Schools standout, which would close down another offensive line spot for the Irish.

AJ Blazek also has a relationship with Augustine dating back to his time at Vanderbilt.
