The Wisconsin Badgers football program has already assembled a solid 2025 recruiting class early in the cycle, currently holding seven commitments.

The Badgers are trending in a positive direction for a handful of prospects in the cycle, as UW has made the list of finalists for a few prospects, including Cameron Miller, Maxwell Roy, and Anthony Sacca

Wisconsin can add another name to that list, as three-star offensive tackle Matty Augustine announced his top-five schools on Wednesday, and the Badgers made the cut.

According to the composite rankings, Augustine is the No. 393 player in the nation, the No. 32 OT, and the No. 4 player in Connecticut.

Augustine garnered nearly 30 scholarship offers during his recruitment, but his revised list will include Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Notre Dame.

The three-star tackle has made several stops to Madison, with his most recent visit coming as a part of a big junior day event weekend for Wisconsin.

The Badgers find themselves in a battle with Notre Dame to reel in an offensive lineman once again. UW lost out on highly-touted in-state OL Owen Strebig last week, and they’ll have to try to beat former Badgers OL coach Joe Rudolph and the Irish for Augustine’s services. It’s worth noting that multiple Crystal Ball predictions were cast for Notre Dame to land Augustine’s commitment.

Offensive line coach AJ Blazek has an established relationship with Augustine, dating back to his days at Vanderbilt, so it will be worth monitoring if Blazek and the Badgers can make a late push as this recruitment draws to a close.

The Wisconsin football program currently holds an offensive line commit in three-star in-state tackle Michael Roeske.
