The Wisconsin football program has earned a commitment from four-star DL Ernest Willor Jr, who is now the highest-ranked commit in the Badgers 2024 recruiting class, on National Signing Day.

A crystal ball prediction was cast a couple of weeks ago for UW to land Willor’s services, and that has come to fruition rather quickly.

Wisconsin Football Lands Commitment From Four-Star DL Ernest Willor Jr.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Ernest Willor is the No. 115 player in the nation, the No. 17 defensive lineman, and the No. 2 player in Maryland.

Willor is coming off of a strong senior season, where he recorded 47 tackles, seven sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in 11 games, according to MaxPreps. The consensus top-125 prospect will play in the All-American Bowl, joining other 2024 Badgers commit Kevin Heywood.

The Concordia Prep standout amassed 26 total offers, with notable schools like Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Maryland, and many more throwing their hat in the ring.

Willor took an official visit to Wisconsin on December 1st, a visit that seemingly moved the needle right away for him. The four-star prospect also had a visit scheduled with Maryland for December 15th, but he was unable to make the trip. Willor made several in-season stops to Maryland, though, and the Terrapins were the other team to crack Willor’s top two ahead of National Signing Day.

Defensive line recruiting has been an area of concern for Wisconsin in the first year under Luke Fickell. However, beating out the likes of Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan, among others, should help put some worries aside for the time being.

With Willor’s commitment, the Wisconsin football program has solidified a top-25 recruiting class in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
