UW beat out offers from Purdue, Illinois, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, and others. The three-star prospect just wrapped up his official visit with Wisconsin and decided to commit on the same weekend.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Woodward is the No. 936 player in the nation, the No. 74 cornerback, and the No. 127 player in Florida.
Wisconsin was Woodward’s first official visit, and he was slated to visit Illinois on June 9th.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback is coming off a spectacular season where he logged 57 tackles, and allowed just two completions. On top of that, Woodward forced three fumbles and recovered two of them.
There’s very little to go off of when evaluating his skill set in coverage due to the limited targets he received. However, that’s a good indication of his ability to lock down opposing receivers.
One thing that does stand out on film is Woodward’s run defense. The Florida native has exceptional closing speed and play recognition to pair with his hard-hitting nature. On top of that, his physicality allows him to shed blocks and make solo tackles with ease.

Woodward is the first cornerback commit in the 2024 cycle and the ninth commitment overall.
The Wisconsin football program now has the No. 21 recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports.
