After announcing his de-commitment from the Wisconsin football program just weeks ago, Cody Haddad has found his new home.

As anticipated, the former Badgers commit announced he will stay home and play his college ball with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He took to social media to make it official.

According to the composite rankings, Haddad is the No. 519 player in the nation, the No. 30 ATH, and the No. 16 player in Ohio.

Former Wisconsin Football Commit Cody Haddad is Headed to Ohio State

Haddad initially committed to Wisconsin in January, but shortly after, a handful of programs began to extend offers. Ohio State was the first school to offer the three-star safety after he announced his commitment to UW, while Iowa, Michigan State, Indiana, and Minnesota also threw their hat in the ring.

Haddad visited the Buckeyes in late March and announced his de-commitment a little over a week later. Now, he’s officially headed to Columbus.

With Haddad’s commitment, Ohio State now has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country with 13 verbal commits.

Wisconsin is looking to rebound after a pair of setbacks on the 2025 recruiting trail. In-state standout Torin Pettaway flipped his commitment to Minnesota in a stunner just a few weeks ago, and now, Haddad has officially found his new home in the Big Ten as well.

UW currently holds a commitment from three-star safety Remington Moss in the 2025 cycle, but by all accounts, the Badgers are looking for multiple bodies at the position. With Haddad out of the picture, Wisconsin will reshift its focus to other targets, including Tariq Hayer and Jussiah Williams-West.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds the No. 21 recruiting class in the nation per the composite rankings.
