The Wisconsin football program extended an offer to an offensive line target in the 2025 recruiting cycle on Friday.

Three-star offensive tackle Jack Shaffer, a North Dakota native, took to social media to announce that he received an offer from the Badgers during his unofficial visit.

According to the 247Sports rankings, Shaffer is listed as the No. 87 offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 3 player in North Dakota.

“What stood out to me was the winning culture that I felt there,” Shaffer told Badgernotes. “I mean, you can tell that the o-line room is legit and they believe they can be the best.”

Shaffer’s recruitment has picked up some steam as of late. He picked up his first offer from North Dakota State in 2023, and since then, the three-star tackle has received offers from Kansas State, Duke, Iowa State, North Dakota, and now Wisconsin, all in 2024. The offer from the Badgers was an exciting one for Shaffer.

“It feels great because it took a bit to get this offer,” Shaffer said when asked what it meant to receive an offer from UW. “It wasn’t just a couple of phone calls. It’s been a long recruitment process, and it felt great finally getting it.”

The 6-foot-6, 315-pound prospect took home unanimous All-State honors after a standout junior season at Bismarck High School. Shaffer spent some time with offensive line coach AJ Blazek during his visit, and the staff has made it known that they like what he brings to the table.

“They like how I play, the physicality, and my heart for the game,” Shaffer said.

Shaffer told Badgernotes that he is aiming for a decision date in the summer. He also noted that relationships will be paramount when deciding where he will play his college ball.

“The most specific thing (will be) my relationship to the coaches and players around me who also love football.”

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds seven commitments in the 2025 recruiting cycle, good for the No. 20 class in the country per the composite rankings.
