Wisconsin Badgers Football: Bye Week Edition – What Are We DOIN Here?!

If you’re like me and spend more time on ESPN’s website than you do on your work company’s intranet page – you may have looked at the AP and Coaches polls for college football this week. It’s not surprising to Wisconsin Badgers football fans that we’re not in the top 25 right now.

But all things considered, Wisconsin has had a decent season through four weeks – with our only loss coming at Washington State, a team that is currently ranked 16th in the country.

A cool thing about these polls is they show ‘others receiving votes’, so you can see how close your team might be to cracking the top 25. In the AP poll, the Wisconsin Badgers come in at 36th in the country.

My biased opinion thinks Wisconsin football could be higher than that, but through four weeks, there are still a lot of undefeated teams that will surely drop games later and fall from the ranks.

Wisconsin Football What Are We Doin’ Here Moment of the Week

When I looked at the Coach’s poll, I was annoyed, confused, and very salty. This poll shows 42 different teams receiving votes. The Wisconsin Badgers are not one of them. WHAT ARE WE DOIN HERE?!

As a sports fan, playing the transitive property game is always fun when it works in your favor. But some of these teams getting votes over Wisconsin football is just mind-blowing to me. Tulane? Georgia State? Liberty? Iowa?! Fucking Iowa? They just lost by 100 to a conference opponent and can barely score 21 points a game. It is offensive to have a group of five team that has yet to play a power five opponent receive votes over this Wisconsin Badgers team.

I’m not trying to sit here and say the Wisconsin Badgers football team needs to be ranked inside the top 25 of either poll. But put some goddamn respect on our name! What are we DOIN here?
