Wisconsin Badgers offensive coordinator Phil Longo has built quite a reputation for developing college football quarterbacks. Now, he’s extended a fresh offer to a prospect from the 2026 recruiting class.

On Wednesday evening, the Badgers became the latest program to throw their hat into the ring for one of the nation’s elite four-star quarterbacks, Faizon Brandon, out of Greensboro, North Carolina.

“I am excited and blessed to say that I have received my 18th D1 offer from The University of Wisconsin,” Brandon wrote.

According to 247Sports, Brandon is the No. 74 player in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 6 quarterback in the country.

Faizon Brandon Picks up Wisconsin Football Offer

The Wisconsin football program has made only three known scholarship offers to quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting class thus far. Those players offered are Dia Bell, Will Griffin, and now, Faizon Brandon.

Brandon is coming off a breakout season at Grimsley High School, where he completed 191-of-277 passes for 3,026 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just three interceptions on a 69% completion percentage, per MaxPreps. He also ran the ball 85 times for 528 yards and nine touchdowns.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound quarterback has already garnered plenty of attention on a national level. Brandon already holds 18 scholarship offers, most notably from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, and Oklahoma.

It will be a tough battle for Wisconsin football to make a compelling case for this recruit to choose them over the blue-blood offers Brandon already holds. However, we’ve witnessed Longo’s ability to draw in talent to the Badgers, even from prospects who might not have previously considered the program. So, you never know what could happen.

The next step is to get Brandon on campus for a visit so the Badgers staff can continue building a relationship.
