The Wisconsin Badgers football program has been busy on the recruiting trail as of late, extending offers left and right to loads of prospects in the 2026 recruiting class.

One of the most intriguing offers in the bunch was to Messiah Mickens, a five-star running back in the 2026 class.

The Penn State commit took to social media to announce the offer from the Badgers.

According to the composite rankings, Mickens is the No. 23 player in the nation, the No. 3 ATH, and the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania.

Mickens joined Penn State’s 2026 recruiting class very early on in the process, announcing his commitment in August of 2023.

The five-star running back has compiled 20 total offers, with notable programs including Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Texas A&M, Purdue, and many others throwing their hat in the ring.

In his sophomore campaign at Trinity High School, Mickens logged 961 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on 123 carries while tacking on 16 receptions for 200 yards.

It’s a tall order to try to steal away a long-time commit from their home school, but Wisconsin and running backs coach Devon Spalding are making an effort.

Along with Mickens, the Wisconsin Badgers are also pursuing other running back targets, such as Sy’eer Coleman, Javian Osborne, and Kory Amachree.

The Wisconsin football program has yet to add a commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
