Wisconsin Football Offers 2026 QB Recruit, Plus More Badgers News
The Badgers have been insanely busy recruiting since the season ended.
The Wisconsin Badgers football program has been buzzing with activity on the recruiting front as of late.
But Badgernotes.com can help get you back up to speed with a quick roundup of the Badgers news you may have missed.
Wisconsin Football Offers No. 4 Quarterback in 2026 Class
Luke Fickell and offensive coordinator Phil Longo are still in the early stages of building their recruiting board in the 2026 class. However, the Badgers staff decided it was time to move on four-star quarterback Will Griffin out of Tampa, Florida.
“After a great conversation with Coach Phil Longo, I’m blessed to receive an offer from Badger Football,” Griffin wrote. “Thank you, Coach Fickell.”

Griffin is considered the No. 61 player in the country and the No. 4 signal caller in his class. Right now, he holds 24 offers, most notably from TCU, Auburn, Oregon, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and others.
As a sophomore at Jesuit High School, Griffin threw for 3,404 yards and 34 touchdowns to 10 interceptions while completing 67% of his passes, according to MaxPreps.
Wisconsin football has only offered one other quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, Dia Bell, the son of former NBA player Raja Bell.
Wisconsin Football Made a Move for Texas RB Chase Garnett
Wisconsin Badgers running back coach Devon Spalding had one of his top targets in the 2025 class on campus for junior day in Chase Garnett.
Although he doesn’t currently hold an offer from the Badgers, there is plenty of mutual interest between the parties.
“All the coaches were so hyped to see me, and I just love the energy,” Garnett told Badgernotes. “We got straight into it with the hype video and meeting coach Fickell. After that, I got to have a one-on-one meeting with Coach Spalding and learn more about the Wisconsin system and how they run things over there in the backfield.”
Thank you everything @BadgerFootball coaching staff and fan base y’all have show me so much love and I had an amazing time on my visit!! #OnWisconsin

Garnett is coming off of a massive junior season at Liberty Christian High School, where he carried the ball 232 times for 1,743 yards and 31 total touchdowns, helping lead his school to a Texas state championship.
“The coach’s message to me was that I’m a player that they really like and that are super interested in and that they would love to have it in their program,” Garnett said. “They told me I’m one of the top backs on their board, they see a lot of potential in me, and then I have a very high ceiling. Coach Spalding has told me I’m a hidden gem.
“I’m just really excited to see where this goes with Wisconsin. I would have to say after this visit that they are one of the top schools on my board that I would commit to.”
Badgers Make Host Interior Offensive Lineman Nathan Humphrey
Interior offensive lineman Nathan Humphrey, Chase Garnett’s high school teammate, also traveled to Madison for a Wisconsin football junior day recruiting visit.
“The visit was awesome,” Humphrey told Badgernotes. “The Coaches and staff brought the energy to start the day with Jump Around, and it continued for the rest of the visit, which wrapped up with a great Hockey game. Seeing the support staff’s dedication and the behind-the-scenes way Wisconsin football operates, you see why they’re a top-tier program.”

The 6-foot-4, 283-pound OL has also been hearing from Texas State, Tarleton, Tulsa, Kentucky Wesleyan, Trinity Christian, Penn, and Princeton.
“The best part was listening to Coach Longo break down the offensive scheme to Coach Spalding, breaking down how the drills he teaches translate to the field,” Humphrey said. “Originally being from Wisconsin and attending games as a small kid, it was an honor.”
