Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program are aiming high this offseason in the transfer portal.

On Monday afternoon, it was announced by  247 Sports reporter Matt Zenitz that Fickell and co. have set their sights on the MAC “Player of the Year” to command the Badgers’ offense next season — ex-Toledo quarterback DeQuan Finn.

Wisconsin Football is Set to Host Stud QB DeQuan Finn

A commitment from Finn would be a massive victory for Wisconsin football in the transfer portal.

The junior slinger threw for 2,657 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while also rushing for 563 yards and seven touchdowns. Across his entire career for Toledo, Finn has recorded 7,070 yards and 63 touchdowns in the air, and 1,836 yards and an impressive 25 touchdowns on the ground.

The Detroit, Michigan native led Toledo to an outstanding 11-2 record this year, proving that he’s got what it takes to lead his side to victory. 247 Sports lists Finn as the sixth-best quarterback in the transfer portal, ahead of star names such as Dillon Gabriel, Kyle McCord, and Will Rogers. He is also listed as the 21st-best player in the entire portal.

Finn entered college as an 88-overall recruit per 247 Sports, but has since improved to a 91-overall ranked transfer in the portal. Finn is the ultimate dynamic quarterback, and would bolster offensive coordinator Phil Longo’s “air raid” tactics with his immense talent through the air and on his feet.

If Finn had entered the portal from a school with more prestige to its name, he could very easily be a top-three talent in the position. This is something to be really excited about, Badgers fans.
