Wisconsin Badgers Football transfer target Tyrell Henry
Michigan State's Tyrell Henry warms up before the football game against Nebraska on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

The transfer portal has only been open for a couple of days, and it has been chaos early for the Wisconsin football program. The Badgers lost multiple receivers to the transfer portal and were part of one of the portal’s most fascinating stories yet

The drama has finally begun to subside, and UW is now gearing up to host a Big Ten WR in the transfer portal.

Wisconsin Football to Host Former Michigan State WR on Recruiting Visit

According to a report by 247Sports’ Allen Trieu, Wisconsin is set to host former Michigan State receiver Tyrell Henry on a recruiting visit.

Henry earned an offer from Wisconsin on Monday when he officially entered the transfer portal and wasted no time setting up a trip to Madison.

Henry, a sophomore, appeared in 11 of 12 games for Michigan State last season. The 6-foot, 175-pound receiver hauled in 24 receptions for 195 yards and three touchdowns, tied for the most receiving touchdowns by a Spartans pass catcher last season. Henry also acted as MSU’s lead kick and punt returner, recording 388 yards on kickoff returns and 89 yards on punt returns.

Wisconsin has had some help on the recruiting trail, with freshman cornerback Amare Snowden doing some campaigning to bring Henry in.

Wide receiver quickly became a position of need in the portal with Chimere Dike and Skyler Bell entering the portal. Henry would fill in nicely among a receiver group with Will Pauling, Bryson Green, CJ Williams, Vinny Anthony, Quincy Burroughs, and others.

The Wisconsin football program is yet to make a transfer addition, but if this upcoming visit goes well, Henry could be the first.
