Wisconsin Football: Badgers Favored to Land a Pair of 2024 Recruits
Wisconsin football expected to land a pair of three-star recruits
Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football program has earned some crystal ball predictions for a pair of 2024 recruits.
UW has already secured four recruits in the 2024 class. Those additions include QB Mabrey Mettauer, TE Grant Stec, TE Rob Booker, and OL Derek Jensen. With two new potential additions, Wisconsin is building a solid class.
247Sports Badgers insider Evan Flood has submitted predictions for UW to land defensive lineman Dillan Johnson and safety Kahmir Prescott. Both players are three-star prospects with intriguing abilities that would suit the Wisconsin football program well.
Dillan Johnson
Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 287-pound defensive lineman, holds 17 offers. Northwestern joined Wisconsin as the only Big Ten schools to throw their hats in the ring for the young prospect.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Johnson is the No. 64 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 13 player in Illinois.
The Illinois native is a two-sport athlete, participating in Joliet Catholic Academy’s football and wrestling teams. According to 247Sports insider Nick Osen, Johnson is looking to make another visit to Wisconsin before traveling to Michigan on a wrestling visit.
Johnson is a disruptive force up front that showcases a knack for block-shedding. His speed doesn’t turn heads, but with his unique ability to free himself from offensive linemen, he’s wreaked havoc in opposing backfields. Johnson has some room for growth as he enters the collegiate level. If he packs on some good weight, he’ll be a sizeable disruptor up front.
Kahmir Prescott
Prescott, a Pennsylvania native, has received plenty of interest from Big Ten schools as of late. Wisconsin, Penn State, Nebraska, Maryland, and Michigan State have all thrown their hats in the ring for the talented safety. However, it seems that Wisconsin is leading the pack.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Prescott is the No. 52 safety in the 2024 class and the No. 18 player in Pennsylvania.
Prescott is a force in the secondary. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety has shown a knack for laying out opposing receivers and quarterbacks. Like Johnson, Prescott has a block-shedding ability that makes him a disruptive force in the backfield when blitzing.
The Wisconsin football program’s safeties have stood out in spring practice thus far. If the Badgers secure Prescott, they’ll get another player who can give opposing offenses fits.
The Badgers are shaping up to have a solid 2024 class with multiple talented recruits already committed. Be sure to keep an eye on these prospects around early summer when they plan to announce their commitments.
