We are quickly approaching National Signing Day in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Wisconsin football program put together a strong 2024 class but slipped down the leaderboards following a de-commitment on Thursday morning

Things have slowed down in the recruiting cycle, but UW made a notable offer yesterday to a highly-touted prospect out of Florida.

Wisconsin Football Attempting to Flip Alabama Commit Jameer Grimsley

Jameer Grimsley, an Alabama commit, took to social media to announce an offer from Wisconsin.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Grimsley is the No. 185 prospect in the nation, the No. 17 CB, and the No. 25 player in Florida.

The Alabama commit is a highly sought-after prospect, holding 37 total offers with notable offers from Michigan, Florida State, Penn State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Minnesota, North Carolina, and many more.

Grimsley is a two-way player, earning reps at cornerback and wide receiver. His stats for the 2023 season have not been reported, but in the 2022 season, Grimsley logged 25 receptions for 356 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games while tacking on ten tackles, a pass breakup, and an interception on defense.

Grimsley is seemingly leaving the door cracked open for other options, as the Tampa native has an official visit lined up for this weekend with the Florida Gators. It’s probably a long shot for the Badgers to flip the four-star prospect, but nonetheless, they have thrown their hat in the ring.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds 20 commitments in the 2024 class, good for the 26th recruiting class in the nation.
