Wisconsin Basketball Transfer Connor Essegian Set for Big Ten Visit
The Badgers transfer is visiting his home-state program.
In a move that always seemed like a matter of time, Wisconsin basketball transfer guard Connor Essegian will visit his home state Big Ten program, the Indiana Hoosiers.
Joe Tipton of On3 reported that Essegian will take an official visit on Wednesday, April 17, to meet with head coach Mike Woodson and see what Indiana, who needs plenty of shooting, has to offer.

According to KenPom, the Hoosiers finished No. 255 in the country in three-point shooting percentage last season (32.4%). They’re hoping that Essegian could cure some of those shooting woes.
During his freshman season, Essegian broke the Wisconsin basketball program record for three-pointers made (69) while connecting on 35.9% of his shot attempts. He also averaged 11.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 27.4 minutes a night en route to All-Big Ten Freshman honors.
However, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Central Noble High School in Indiana experienced a fall from grace as a sophomore and lost his role in the Badgers rotation following a back injury. Essegian appeared in 33 games but averaged just 3.2 points in 7.3 minutes a game.
Indiana offers Essegian a chance to return home and provide the Hoosiers with the shooting they desperately need. More importantly, there are minutes available in their rotation. Thus far, coach Woodson has added point guard Myles Rice from Washington State and center Oumar Ballo from Arizona in the transfer portal.
Since entering the transfer portal, the former Wisconsin basketball standout has visited Maryland and South Carolina. The Michigan Wolverines were also reported to be interested.
