The Wisconsin basketball program is hitting a groove to start the new year, securing wins over Iowa, Nebraska, and Ohio State. The Badgers have now won 11 of their last 12 games, and as a result, Wisconsin moved up six spots in the latest AP Top 25 poll to No. 15 in the nation.

There’s a lot of season left, but Wisconsin is looking more and more like a contender for the Big Ten title. Experts seem to agree, as UW is on the rise in the latest ESPN bracketology update.

Wisconsin Basketball Projected as a No. 2 Seed in Joe Lunardi’s Updated Bracketology

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi dropped a bracketology update on Thursday, as the Badgers are now projected to be a No. 2 seed.

Wisconsin has steadily risen in the ranks all season, thanks to resume-building wins over Virginia, Marquette, Michigan State, Iowa, and Nebraska. Before the season tipped off, UW was projected as a No. 8 seed, but recent bracketology updates saw the program listed as a No. 4 and No. 3 seed, respectively.

Lunardi’s latest ranking has the Badgers listed at No. 8, swapping places with Kentucky.

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball program will look to remain unbeaten in conference play as they get set to take on Northwestern on Saturday. The Badgers currently sit atop the Big Ten conference.
