Wisconsin Basketball Hosts 7-foot-3 Big Man on Official Visit
The Wisconsin basketball coaching staff is pushing for one final 2024 commit in its recruiting class.
Over the past weekend, Greg Gard and the University of Wisconsin basketball team welcomed Daniel Jacobsen, a 7-foot-3, 235-pound center from Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, for an official recruiting visit to Madison.
Jacobsen is a highly sought-after recruit, with offers from several schools, including Illinois, Minnesota, Creighton, Clemson, New Mexico, Purdue, Providence, Tulsa, and Xavier.
Big thanks to @BadgerMBB and the whole staff for an awesome visit! Loved seeing the new facilities and meeting with all the great professionals involved with the program. On Wisconsin!! 🔴⚪️ @d_jacobsen23 pic.twitter.com/U3HgkSu9qe

Since receiving an offer from Wisconsin during an unofficial visit in August, his relationship with the Badgers coaching staff has flourished.
The big man, originally from Mt. Horeb just outside Madison, recently reclassified to the 2024 recruiting class. He is now in the final stages of making his college decision.
Will Wisconsin Basketball Add One Final Piece to Its 2024 Recruiting Class?
Greg Gard and the Wisconsin basketball program have secured commitments from two players in the 2024 recruiting class: point guard Daniel Freitag and wing Jack Robison.
But the Badgers have their sights set on adding one final piece to put a bow on the cycle, and Daniel Jacobsen is that recruit.
I’m told that everything on his official visit was “first class” and that the coaching staff is pushing hard for a commitment so that they can officially turn the page to the 2025 cycle.
“I got to watch two practices and workouts,” Jacobsen told BadgerNotes. “I got a tour of the new facilities in the Kohl Center and some apartments. I also got to meet with the coaches, attend the football game, and discuss how I would fit into the team.
“I really like how Wisconsin plays and their history of great bigs.”
It’s also worth noting that his mother got her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, and many of the family’s close friends are alums.
Final Thoughts
Daniel Jacobsen has already taken official visits to Minnesota, Purdue, and Wisconsin. He hasn’t ruled out the possibility of additional visits before making his commitment. That said, the Badgers are in a good spot here.
Adding the towering big man to the 2024 recruiting class would be a home run for the Wisconsin basketball program — and his skill set pairs nicely with Greg Gard & his offensive system.
