Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football program has heavily recruited the Chicago area early in the 2024 cycle. UW has already brought on two Illinois recruits, with Kyan Berry-Johnson and Grant Stec verbally committing. Now, Wisconsin has set an official visit with a top target based out of Chicago.

According to a report by Allen Trieu of 247Sports, Dillan Johnson has set a pair of Big Ten visits. Wisconsin will be second in line, as the three-star defensive lineman will visit Northwestern on May 12th before heading to Madison on June 2nd. Johnson made two unofficial visits to Wisconsin during spring ball.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Johnson is the No. 84 defensive lineman in the 2024 class and the No. 18 player in Illinois.

The 6-foot-2, 287-pound DL currently holds 17 offers, receiving plenty of power-five interest as of late. His offer list includes Cincinnati, Iowa State, California, Kansas State, Northwestern, Missouri, Washington State, Tulane, and others.

Johnson has yet to decide which sport he will play at the collegiate level. The Illinois native has dominated as a wrestler, earning two undefeated seasons and back-to-back state titles. Wisconsin has offered Johnson in football and wrestling, making them the only school to dish out offers in both sports thus far.

The Badgers currently hold three defensive commitments with Kahmir Prescott, Landon Gauthier, and Thomas Heiberger. Johnson could be next in line to bolster Wisconsin’s defense.

There is one current Crystal Ball prediction for Wisconsin to land Johnson. If he commits, he’ll be an excellent fit for the Wisconsin football program.
