Austin Alexander, a cornerback out of Illinois, took to Twitter to announce his decision on Monday morning.
Wisconsin Badgers land a commitment from Austin Alexander
Alexander is an intriguing prospect for the Badgers. He is ranked as the 49th cornerback in the nation and the 14 ranked player in Illinois according to 247 Sports. Alexander just finished his junior year of high school football, and he had a season to remember. The Badgers commit posted 49 tackles and seven interceptions in his junior year. Heading into his senior year, he will have plenty of time to develop before coming to Wisconsin.
After an impressive junior year, Alexander’s development will be an exciting item to watch. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound cornerback has plenty of upside when it comes to his defensive ability. He’s shown that he is a ball hawk and has the length to break up passes or grab tough interceptions.
The Illinois native could be a key contributor to Wisconsin’s secondary and a valuable addition to the program. There is still some time before he steps on campus, so be sure to keep an eye on Alexander’s development in his senior year.
