A big-time Wisconsin football recruiting target announced on Friday that his commitment is on the horizon.

Four-star defensive lineman Austin Alexander announced on social media that he will make his commitment on April 19th at 3:30 PM.

According to the composite rankings, Alexander is rated as the No. 333 player in the nation, the No. 37 DL, and the No. 2 player in Kentucky.

The 6-foot-3, 243-pound defensive lineman is among Wisconsin’s top targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Badgers most recently hosted Alexander on a junior day visit in February, but he’s made several other stops in Madison.

Outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell has acted as the lead recruiter for Alexander throughout this process.

The four-star defensive lineman has compiled 29 total offers throughout the course of his recruitment, but he included Wisconsin alongside North Carolina, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Stanford, Maryland, Purdue, Louisville, Liberty, and Virginia in his commitment date announcement.

Alexander is coming off of a standout junior season at Cooper High School, taking reps on both sides of the ball. The Kentucky native recorded 81 tackles, 19 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and an interception on defense while adding on 67 receptions for 1,138 yards and 19 touchdowns on offense.

Earning a commitment from Alexander would be big as the Badgers look to rebound from a pair of decommitments in the 2025 cycle from Cody Haddad and Torin Pettaway.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds seven commitments and the No. 20 recruiting class in the country per the composite rankings.
