The Wisconsin football program added its 20th commitment to the 2025 class on Tuesday as three-star defensive lineman Wilnerson Telemaque announced his commitment to UW.

Here’s a look back at Telemaque’s recruitment and what he brings to the table for the Badgers.

Wisconsin Football Commit Wilnerson Telemaque: On the Recruiting Trail

According to the composite rankings, Telemaque is the No. 719 player in the country, the No. 74 DL, and the No. 95 player in Florida.

The Monsignor Pace High School standout listed UW in his top four a few weeks ago alongside West Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Florida.

Telemaque stopped in Madison for an official visit on June 7th. He also visited Georgia Tech on June 14th before shutting down his recruitment. Defensive line coach EJ Whitlow served as the primary recruiter, and defensive coordinator Mike Tressel also played a role in landing the Florida native.

The 6-foot-6, 257-pound defensive lineman is now the second defensive line commit in the 2025 cycle, joining in-state standout Torin Pettaway.

In his junior year at Monsignor Pace High School, Telemaque recorded 16 tackles, 3.0 TFLs, three sacks, and a pass breakup, according to MaxPreps.

Telemaque looks to be a player who will offer some versatility at the next level. With his raw athleticism and size, he has the ability to play on the interior line or line up on the edge. Though he likely projects better as a defensive tackle, he has the tools and upside to develop into a difference-maker for the Badgers on the inside or the outside.

The athletic measurables are already there, as Telemaque stands at 6-foot-6, 257 pounds, with plenty of room to add good weight. He also has a sprawling wingspan of over seven feet, which gives him a big leg up on the defensive front.

On film, Telemaque is a game wrecker who has a nose for the ball with twitchiness and burst to stop plays from developing. He has solid strength to pair with his long arms, which helps him push opposing offensive linemen back to get after the ball carrier.

Brute strength is good, but you’d like to see Telemaque work on creating some more leverage and improving his pad level in his senior year. He can occasionally get caught standing, which can result in a stumbling step before he can recover. That can be refined, and I don’t expect it to be too much of an issue as he develops further.

He has his strengths, but Telemaque looks to be more of a project player with the upside to turn into a vital player on EJ Whitlow’s defensive line. The Monsignor Pace standout already checks a lot of boxes and could end up being a steal for the Badgers in the 2025 class.

With Telemaque’s verbal pledge, the Wisconsin football program is now up to 20 commitments in the 2025 cycle. According to the composite rankings, UW currently holds the No. 12 recruiting class in the country.
