After searching for a good fit to resume his career, former Badgers wide receiver Markus Allen has found a new home. During the spring, the two-time Wisconsin football transfer practiced as the third-team slot WR with head coach Luke Fickell and his staff but re-entered the portal in June.

Allen will attend Butler Community College in Kansas next season and play for the Grizzlies. Butler CC has produced notable NFL players such as running back Chris Carson, Demarcus Lawrence, Michael Gallup, and Byron Pringle.

The 6-foot-1, 207-pound wideout will have three years of eligibility left.

It was an uneven career with the Wisconsin football team for Markus Allen, but the talent was always evident.

After initially transferring out of the Wisconsin Badgers’ program after not seeing the field against Michigan State in October 2022, Allen briefly committed to play for PJ Fleck and the Gophers before backing off that pledge and rejoining UW after Luke Fickell’s hiring.

The Dayton, Ohio native appeared in nine games at Wisconsin, catching 10 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown on 17.3 yards per catch.

Allen initially joined the Wisconsin football program as a four-star recruit under Paul Chryst, joining the Badgers over reported scholarship offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Virginia, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

Best of luck to Markus Allen in his next chapter.
