2024 Wisconsin Football Commit Posts a Huge Stat Line

Early in the 2024 recruiting cycle, the Wisconsin football program picked up a huge commitment in quarterback Mabrey Mettauer.

Mettauer, a Texas native, was one of the first players on board in the cycle. Getting a quarterback early is huge for recruiting, and Following his commitment, Mettauer did some campaigning of his own to bring in some key prospects.

The Woodland’s High School standout began his senior season just a few weeks ago. In his first two weeks, Mettauer logged 235 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers don’t exactly jump off the page, but his latest game turned heads.

According to Jackson DiPasquale, Mettauer finished with 429 passing yards, 103 rushing yards, and a whopping seven total touchdowns in a matchup against Oak Ridge High School. Even more impressive, the Wisconsin football commit logged 338 passing yards and two touchdowns in the first half.

After losing their first two matchups, The Woodlands got back on track on the heels of standout quarterback play from Mettauer. The Texas native has seemingly hit his stride, and he’ll be a key player to watch as the season progresses.

Currently, Mettauer is the No. 392 player in the 2024 class, the No. 26 quarterback, and the No. 64 player in Texas, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
