Things are beginning to move quickly between the Wisconsin Badgers football program and recruiting target Brenden Anes, who is a linebacker from Franklin, Tennessee.

Anes picked up a scholarship offer from the Badgers in November, joining Vanderbilt, Duke, Indiana, Liberty, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Memphis, and several other schools in the race for his services.

The composite recruiting rankings have Anes, a three-star prospect, listed as the No. 63 linebacker in the nation and the No. 30 player in Tennessee.

Per MaxPreps, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker finished his junior season at Fred J Page High School with 90 tackles, 18 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions, and two pass deflections.

Wisconsin Football Lands Crystal Ball for LB Brenden Anes

After visiting with the Wisconsin football program over the weekend when they hosted their junior day recruiting weekend, a 247Sports recruiting insider has placed a crystal ball prediction for 2025 linebacker Brenden Anes to land with the Badgers.

It’s also worth noting that he was on campus for an unofficial visit in October when the Badgers played Iowa and has often been in contact with outside linebackers coach Mike Mitchell since then.

UW has four commits in the 2025 recruiting class thus far, with just one commit from in-state product Cooper Catalano in the linebacker room, but wants to try to close this particular recruitment sooner rather than later.

According to the composite rankings, the Wisconsin football program has the No. 16 recruiting class in the country and now looks like they’re in an excellent spot to add another player in short order.
