After previously announcing he would keep his official visit schedule locked in, Emmanuel Karmo has closed his recruitment and canceled his visit with the Wisconsin football program.

The four-star linebacker took to social media to announce he had shut his recruitment down.

“It’s been a good week for me to reflect in the recruiting process and ask myself what is important and what I really want with my recruitment,” Karmo wrote. “I came to the conclusion and notified other schools that UofMN is where my heart is and I would not be taking other OVs – recruitment closed.”

With this announcement, Karmo also canceled his visits to Ohio State and Nebraska.

According to the composite rankings, Karmo is the No. 341 player in the nation, the No. 36 linebacker, and the No. 1 player in Minnesota.

Wisconsin landed in Karmo’s top seven in April, alongside Minnesota, Ohio State, USC, Nebraska, Penn State, and Oregon. He announced his commitment to PJ Fleck and the Gophers just a few days after listing his top schools.

Defensive coordinator Mike Tressel and outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell worked as the primary recruiters for Karmo after UW extended an offer in February.

Wisconsin currently holds commitments from linebackers Brenden Anes, Samuel Lateju, and Cooper Catalano in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Badgers have locked in official visits with some other top linebacker targets, including Elliott Schaper, Mason Posa, Jayden Woods, and Nicholas Clayton.

Official visit season is just around the corner. Heading into a big recruiting stretch, the Wisconsin football program holds 11 commitments. According to the composite rankings, that is good for the No. 17 class in the country in the 2025 cycle.
