Wisconsin Badgers Football RB commit Gideon Ituka

The Wisconsin Badgers football program added some needed insurance at running back on National Signing Day.

Gideon Ituka, a Maryland native, made things official on Wednesday by signing his National Letter of Intent to join the Badgers.

In his senior year, Ituka rushed for 2,000+ yards and over 30 touchdowns, setting multiple career highs on the way.

Commitment to the Wisconsin Football Program

Ituka joins Darrion Dupree and Dilin Jones as the three running back commits for Wisconsin the 2024 cycle.

Before bursting onto the scene with over 2,000 rushing yards in 2023, Ituka recorded 152 carries, 1,106 yards, and 16 touchdowns in nine games his junior year.

The Gaithersburg, Maryland native earned ten total offers during his recruitment. Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program beat out Tennessee, Maryland, Syracuse, Boston College, Liberty, Toledo, Temple, Charlotte, and Campbell for Ituka’s services.

With Ituka, Dupree, and Jones all on board, UW brought in three running backs who complement each other’s skill sets very well. While Ituka may not be as lauded as the other two RB signees, he is the mold of running back that Wisconsin is looking for.

The Badgers will have Jackson Acker, Cade Yacamelli, Nate White, Grover Bortolotti, and, potentially, Chez Mellusi returning in 2024. With limited experience in the room — outside of Mellusi if he returns — Ituka has the chance to push for some early playing time.
