The Wisconsin Badgers football team faced a harsh setback in their recent game against the Northwestern Wildcats, ending with a disappointing 24-10 loss. As the team strives to secure bowl eligibility with two games left in the season, key players like quarterback Tanner Mordecai, running back Braelon Allen, and wide receiver Chimere Dike returned to the lineup.

In the aftermath of the defeat, it was evident that the Badgers had to contend with challenges, particularly concerning Braelon Allen.

The talented running back, who has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain, only had three carries for three yards in the entire game, once again raising concerns about his health and ability to impact the team moving forward.

Head Coach Luke Fickell addressed the injury situation during a postgame interview, shedding light on Braleon Allen’s current condition.

Fickell mentioned, “We didn’t know if he was really going to be able to go, and the situation, it didn’t seem like he was able to kind of let loose and go. But I think it became a little bit evident that it didn’t feel like he was good enough to go.”

Wisconsin football couldn’t run the ball whatsoever on Saturday, taking an already inept offense and making it one-dimensional. Allen attempted to play, but his body didn’t cooperate. There is, however, optimism for his availability in the upcoming week’s matchup against Nebraska.

The absence of Allen had a notable impact on the Wisconsin Badgers’ ground game, with the team struggling to gain momentum, particularly in the first half. The running game faced challenges, accumulating only 14 yards on eight attempts in the first half.

As the Badgers continue their quest for bowl eligibility, the status of key players like Braelon Allen will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the Wisconsin football team’s performance in the remaining games.

Stay tuned for further updates on Allen’s recovery ahead of Nebraska.
