Here are a few Wisconsin Badgers player props to make the game more interesting.

Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football team (4-2, 2-1 B1G) will hit the road this weekend for an away game in Champaign against former Badgers head coach Bret Bielema and the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Following a disappointing performance against Iowa last week and the loss of starting quarterback Tanner Mordecai to injury, the Badgers find themselves in a position where they have nothing left to lose.

And as the saying goes, there’s nothing more dangerous than something unburdened by the fear of losing it all…

I kid. This game will likely be a snooze fest featuring a poor Illinois team and a Wisconsin squad still searching for its offensive identity.

As the Wisconsin Badgers gear up for their clash against Illinois this weekend, I’ve prepared some exciting player prop bets for you, courtesy of Sleeper.

Let’s play Russian roulette.

Wisconsin Football WR Will Pauling Over 3.5 Catches (1.88x)

I get it; Wisconsin doesn’t have Tanner Mordecai under center after suffering a broken hand last weekend and is now rolling out redshirt freshman Braedyn Locke, who we haven’t seen much of.

But Wisconsin football coaches showed us they’re not afraid to throw when Locke’s under center last week. That’s why Will Pauling getting over 3.5 catches against Illinois seems like a home run player prop this week.

He’s coming off back-to-back eight-catch performances and should make an excellent safety valve option for Locke in the slot. All-in on this one.

Braelon Allen Over 0.5 Rushing Touchdowns (1.41x)

Braelon Allen burned me on this one last week, but I’m ready to be hurt again. Wisconsin football must do everything possible to put a quarterback making his first start in an advantageous position.

To me, that means giving the rock to your best offensive player.

Agent 0 scored two touchdowns against Georgia Southern, two against Purdue, and one against Rutgers. I feel good about him finding paydirt on a bad Illinois defense on Saturday.

Wisconsin Football RB Jackson Acker Over 31.5 Rushing Yards (1.76x)

In his press conference, Wisconsin football head coach Luke Fickell acknowledged that the Badgers got away from the run more than they should have last weekend.

BA was in and out of the lineup due to being banged up, which I thought would lead to Jackson Acker getting more carries (it didn’t). Although he carried the ball just three times for 10 yards against Iowa, Acker looked more than capable against Rutgers the week before when he totaled 65 yards.

With Braedyn Locke under center, as I mentioned before, the Badgers will want to make life easy on him. I anticipate the run game being utilized more against Illinois and Acker being a beneficiary.

It also helps that the Illini run defense sucks (No. 100 in the country).

Braedyn Locke Over 180.5 Passing Yards (1.78x)

I’ll admit, I have next to no basis for taking this one, and it is strictly an emotional pick.

Rooting for a young, talented quarterback making his first start for the Wisconsin football program should be entertaining regardless of the outcome; why not have a slightly more vested interest?

I’m pulling for Braedyn Locke against Illinois on Saturday.
