Wisconsin football outside linebacker CJ Goetz is officially taking his talents to the NFL after six seasons with the Badgers.

On Thursday, the graduate linebacker announced in an Instagram post that he was entering his name into the NFL Draft.

“Ever since I was a kid, I have always dreamed of one day playing for Wisconsin,” Goetz wrote. “The last several years, I was able to accomplish my childhood dream. Thank you to Coach Chryst, Coach Haering, Coach Fickell, and Coach Mitchell for all the opportunities that you have provided me throughout my career.

“With that being said, I am blessed to announce that I am declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. On Wisconsin!”

CJ Goetz initially joined the Wisconsin football program as a member of the 2018 recruiting class as a three-star prospect out of Catholic Memorial High School under then-Badgers coach Paul Chryst.

The 6-foot-3 outside linebacker appeared in 59 games during his career at UW, finishing with 149 tackles, 50 pressures, 25.5 TFLs, nine sacks, five pass deflections, one forced fumble, and an INT.

Goetz was a starter for the Wisconsin Badgers defense in the last two seasons, playing opposite Nick Herbig and Darryl Peterson, respectively.

The in-state product joins Braelon Allen, Tanor Bortolini, Jason Maitre, Peter Bowden, and Maema Njongmeta as Wisconsin football players who have entered the NFL Draft this offseason.
