It’s been a busy week on the recruiting front for the Wisconsin football program, with Badgers coaches on the road visiting with prospects and dishing out loads of offers.

One of the most recent offers was to four-star safety DeShawn Stewart from Wayne, New Jersey.

According to the industry-generated composite rankings, Stewart is the No. 249 player in the nation, the No. 19 safety, and the No. 7 player in New Jersey in the 2025 recruiting class.

Stewart currently holds 12 offers, with Penn State, Cincinnati, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, UConn, West Virginia, Duke, Liberty, Boston College, and UMass also throwing their hats in the ring for the four-star prospect.

The DePaul Catholic High School standout is a two-year starter on varsity. As a sophomore, Stewart played in 11 games and recorded 26 tackles, six pass deflections, and three interceptions. In 2023, the four-star prospect logged 56 tackles, 19 pass breakups, and 1.0 TFLs.

Wisconsin landed a commitment from three-star safety Cody Haddad on Wednesday and already held a previous verbal from safety Remington Moss. Safety still looks to be a point of emphasis for this staff despite two early additions.

Stewart has made several stops at Penn State early in his recruitment, attending a team camp in July — earning an offer shortly after — and making two in-season unofficial visits with the Nittany Lions.

It will be worth monitoring to see if the Wisconsin Badgers staff can lure Stewart in for a visit down the line.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds five commitments in the 2025 recruiting cycle, good for the No. 16 class in the country.
