Wisconsin Football News: TE Coach Leaves the Program, New Offer, More
It’s been a busy few days for the Wisconsin football program. Don’t worry; BadgerNotes has you covered with all the latest UW news you may have missed.
Gino Guidugli leaves the Wisconsin football program
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Gino Guidugli is expected to fill Notre Dame’s quarterback coach position.
Source: Wisconsin assistant Gino Guidugli is expected to be the next quarterbacks coach at Notre Dame. Guidugli spent the last two years as Cincinnati’s play caller, including the CFP bid and win at Notre Dame in 2021. He’s recruited the Midwest extensively.

Guidugli was hired as Wisconsin’s passing game coordinator and tight ends coach on January 4th. Just over a month later, he has a new home.
Guidugli followed Badgers head coach Luke Fickell to Madison after two seasons as Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator. Before that, he served as the Bearcats quarterbacks coach and was instrumental in developing current Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder.
UW will now look to add a new tight ends coach. There are no clear frontrunners, but Luke Fickell mentioned that the lack of Wisconsin guys in the coaching staff is a setback. Perhaps a reunion with former tight ends coach Mickey Turner is on the horizon?
Badgers offer three-star defensive lineman
The Badgers offered three-star defensive lineman Dominic Kirks on Tuesday night. Kirks took to Twitter to announce the offer.
Wow! 🙏🏾 After a great conversation with @G_Scruggs I am very thankful and blessed to receive an offer from The University of Wisconsin! 🔴⚪️ #Gobadgers 🦡 @AllenTrieu @DemetricDWarren @On3Recruits @ChadSimmons_ @VASJFootball pic.twitter.com/cSuL0yAoqg

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive lineman is the No. 75 DL in the 2024 class and the No. 35 in Ohio.
Kirks holds offers from 12 schools, including a Big Ten offer from Rutgers. Kirks has received plenty of interest recently, as he has announced offers from UAB and Bowling Green in the last two days.
Wisconsin currently has three recruits in the 2024 class, with Mabrey Mettauer, Grant Stec, and Rob Booker committed. Could Kirks be the next big addition to the Wisconsin football program’s 2024 class?
Wisconsin Football Dudes of the Week
Badgers strength and conditioning coach Brady Collins announced his Dudes of the Week on Monday. Collins took to Twitter to announce the players who “Earned their W.”

Collins has revamped the Badgers weight room, giving players incentives and perks for putting in the work. This week’s group highlighted QBs Tanner Mordecai, Nick Evers, and Braedyn Locke, among others.
Collins has established a winning culture in the weight room, which will pay dividends when the 2023 season rolls around.
