It’s been a busy couple of days for the Wisconsin Badgers football program.

Don’t worry; Badgernotes.com has you covered with a roundup of all the latest news you may have missed.

Wisconsin Football Misses on Pair of 2025 Recruiting Targets

Wisconsin made the list of finalists for a handful of 2025 prospects over the last few weeks, but they came up short for two of those targets.

Three-star interior offensive lineman Joshua Williams listed the Badgers in his top five just five days after picking up an offer from new OL coach AJ Blazek. Michigan, Stanford, Rutgers, and Penn State also made the cut, but Williams elected to continue his playing career and education at Stanford.

UW also missed out on offensive tackle Matty Augustine, who listed the Badgers in his final choices with Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Penn State. The three-star prospect announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish on Tuesday morning.

Wisconsin has been locked in some recruiting battles with Notre Dame for several offensive linemen. The Badgers have now missed on in-state four-star OL Owen Strebig and Augustine.

UW will have to continue its search for help on the offensive line, but this class may be a smaller one after the Badgers signed five linemen in the 2024 class.

Wisconsin Football Makes the Top-13 For 4-Star EDGE Recruit

After a junior day visit to Madison a few weeks back, four-star EDGE Jayden Woods announced his top 13 schools. The Badgers made the cut alongside some notable programs, including Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, and many others.

According to the composite rankings, Woods is the No. 145 player in the nation, the No. 14 EDGE, and the No. 4 player in his home state of Kansas.

Woods confirmed to Badgernotes.com that he would make a return visit to Wisconsin in June. The Badgers have added just one outside linebacker in the 2025 recruiting cycle thus far in Brenden Anes, but they also hold a Crystal Ball prediction for three-star OLB Samuel Lateju.

UW is up against some heavy hitters, so this recruitment may be a tough one to win, but it will be worth monitoring.

The Wisconsin Badgers Could Play at Lambeau Field Next Season

The last time the Wisconsin football program took the field at the Frozen Tundra was back in 2016 in a memorable matchup against No. 5 LSU. The Badgers are slated to play Notre Dame at Lambeau in 2026, but could an early return be on the way?

According to Northwestern reporter Louie Vaccher, it’s a possibility, as Wildcats athletic director Derrick Gragg said NU may play a game at Lambeau Field next season, with Wisconsin being the likely opponent.

This matchup would be treated as a home game for the Wildcats as Ryan Field, Northwestern’s home field, is set to be replaced with a new facility. Playing at Lambeau would be a breath of fresh air for the Badgers, who have fared poorly when traveling to Evanston in recent years.

University officials have not confirmed the report, but the potential for a “road” matchup at Lambeau Field for the Wisconsin football program is intriguing. This will be worth keeping an eye on.
