Wisconsin Badgers head football coach Luke Fickell and his coaching staff will welcome one of the nation’s top pass-rushers to Madison this summer on an official recruiting visit.

Four-star outside linebacker Jayden Woods, who attended the Badgers junior day, confirmed to Badgernotes.com that he will return for an official visit starting June 1.

“Wisconsin’s defensive scheme truly benefits outside linebackers for the NFL,” Woods shared with Badgernotes. “The Badgers coaching staff seems very genuine.”

According to composite recruiting rankings, Woods is the No. 145 overall player and the nation’s 14th-ranked edge rusher.

Woods holds 32 total scholarship offers, most notably from Alabama, Florida, Iowa, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, USC, and Texas A&M, among others.

Wisconsin Football to Get an Official Visit From 2025 4-Star Outside Linebacker

Jayden Woods hails from Shawnee, Kansas, and is among the Wisconsin football team’s top 2025 recruiting targets at the outside linebacker spot.

This past season as a junior at Mill Valley High School, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound edge rusher registered 71 tackles, 11 hurries, 10.0 TFLs, eight pass deflections, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles, per MaxPreps.

Badgers outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell has been the lead recruiter for Woods throughout his process and has Wisconsin within striking distance. That said, they’re only expected to take one or two more players at the spot after Brenden Anes’s commitment

Wisconsin football is also heavily involved with OLBs Austin Alexander, Samuel Lateju, and Gabe Kaminski. So, it’s possible the Badgers will be able to fill up their scholarship spots at outside linebacker well before official visit season, although those numbers are subject to change.
