The Wisconsin football team held a football camp for prospective high school football players to attend and get some exposure to the Wisconsin coaching staff. These camps consists of players from all over the country, but also a lot of local players.

Sometimes, if a player really impresses the coaching staff during the camp, a prospect will leave camp with a preferred walk-on offer or even a full scholarship offer.

2026 offensive tackle Braden Wilmes (Lawrence, KS) is one of those players, earning a scholarship offer from the Wisconsin football team.

According to the 247Sports composite, the 6-7 tackle is a 3-star prospect and is the 445th-overall prospect in the country, the 33rd ranked offensive tackle, and seventh overall player in Kansas.

The Wisconsin football target now holds seven Division I offers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas and Minnesota.

Wilmes is a big kid. When you watch his Hudl highlights (below) from his sophomore season, he is easily the biggest player on the field, and as a junior in high school, there’s a chance he’ll grow more. He consistently takes defensive linemen for a ride and throws a pancake in here or there for good measure.

The Wisconsin football team already has a loaded offensive line group in their 2025 class, but offensive line coach AJ Blazek and Director of Scouting Casey Rabach are already starting to assemble his group for the 2026 class. Wilmes would be a great place to start.
