Wisconsin Football: Camp Randall ranked as one of CFB’s top stadiums
Camp Randall Stadium named one of the nation’s best fan atmospheres
It’s been known for quite a while now that the home of Wisconsin football is quite the experience on Saturdays. With tailgates all around and the iconic “Jump Around” tradition, Madison has cultivated one of college football’s best atmospheres.
In a ranking released by 247Sports, Camp Randall came in at No. 6 for best stadiums based on fan atmosphere.
UW was one of five Big Ten schools included in the ranking. Penn State (No.2), Nebraska (No. 9), Michigan (No. 10), and Ohio State (No. 12) also received honors as top college football environments in the nation.
Wisconsin football has had some iconic games at Camp Randall. Some games that come to mind include the win over No. 1 ranked Ohio State, followed by a win over No. 13 Iowa to propel UW to a Big Ten Championship.
Not only that, but some unforgettable moments took place on Camp Randall’s turf. I will never forget the moment Melvin Gordon broke the NCAA single-game rushing record in 2014 against No. 11 Nebraska or David Gilreath’s opening kickoff return against Ohio State.
Wisconsin has made Camp Randall into a top atmosphere and had some unforgettable moments in the process. Looking ahead to 2023, it is safe to say excitement is at a high. With the splash hire of Luke Fickell and plenty of transfers on board, next season looks to be one of the most exciting yet.
Camp Randall will be buzzing during the 2023 season, so try to get out to a game. And, of course, we can only hope beer sales are on the horizon.
