Wisconsin Football: Badgers Offer Top In-State 2024 Recruit
Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football program has extended another offer in the 2024 cycle. Four-star offensive tackle Garrett Sexton took to Twitter to announce an offer from the Badgers.
After a great call with @CoachFick and @CoachBicknell I'm excited to announce I have received an offer to play football for Wisconsin! pic.twitter.com/bgKhC24vsW

Sexton, a Hartland native, is one of the top players in the state. According to the 247Sports Composite, Sexton is the No. 377 player in the nation, the No. 30 offensive tackle in the 2024 class, and the No. 4 player in Wisconsin.
The 6-foot-7, 245-pound offensive tackle is a highly sought-after prospect, currently holding 19 offers. Wisconsin joins Iowa, Penn State, Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota, Rutgers, and Northwestern as Big Ten schools who have extended an offer to the standout from Arrowhead.
Wisconsin’s offer comes nearly a week before Sexton’s commitment date, set to take place on May 1st. Sexton recently whittled his list to four schools, with Penn State, Minnesota, Iowa, and Oklahoma making the cut.
Is Garrett Sexton within reach for the Wisconsin football program?
Although Wisconsin has jumped in late with an offer, he’s not necessarily out of reach for Luke Fickell and company.
“That’s a big change. Spoke with Garrett a few weeks ago about his top four — Iowa, Penn State, Minnesota, and Oklahoma — and he said Wisconsin wanted to wait till this summer to possibly offer. Initial plan was to commit May 1st. Something to watch regarding his decision.”
Wisconsin has a fighting chance to land the four-star OT, especially with his ties to the program. 2024 commit Derek Jensen is Sexton’s teammate at Arrowhead High School, and he did some campaigning following the announcement.

The Wisconsin football program currently has seven commitments in the 2024 class. Mabrey Mettauer, Rob Booker, Grant Stec, Derek Jensen, Kyan Berry-Johnson, Thomas Heiberger, and Landon Gauthier currently make up Wisconsin’s class, and Sexton could be a new addition to an already solid class.
Keep an eye on Sexton’s recruitment, UW may be able to get themselves in the mix for the four-star offensive tackle.
